Fingering chart for 6 hole Native American Flutes.

While traditional 5-hole flutes are intuitive and great for beginners due to their pentatonic tuning, the 6-hole version opens the door to new melodies and expanded musical possibilities. If you're new to the 6th hole, a helpful tip is to keep the 3rd hole (from the bottom) covered when uncovering the 4th hole to maintain proper tuning. You won’t stay in tune if you simply uncover the 4th hole as usual. This counterintuitive step may feel challenging at first, but with some practice, you'll master it and unlock the full richness of 6-hole Native American flutes!
